Actually I've been hunting up and down for xbox games - seriously thought about buying an xbox for a while... still thinking in fact. Unfortunately it just doesn't deliever (for me) in terms of games. The xbox might have a builtin HD and builtin broadband adapter thingie, but personally they hold no interest for me. I don't like having to manage large HDs, and custom soundtracks, plus I don't like online gaming and can't get broadband anyways... but that's just me. Some xbox owners might complain, saying that the PS2's hardware quality is ****e, and might talking about the common PS2 "Disc Read Error" problem. But the xbox has it's own share of problems, one of each being its HD. While not as common with the later batches of units, quite a few drives (especially the earlier ones) have been known to fail. xbox vs PS2 More powerful than the PS2 in terms of MHZ and such? Sure. Better graphics? Sure, in SOME (but not all) games. Better sounds? Don't have a bl**dy clue - and unless you have a really good sounds system you probably wouldn't notice either. Better games? Well, I'd say HELL NO, but that's a matter of taste. Right now the only games I want on the xbox from it's entire library are Project Gotham Racer and Unreal Championship. Upcoming games, only Group S Racing, Dungeons & Dragons Heroes, Deus Ex 2, and maybe (maybe) Half Life 2... plus one of two others. And that's from the ENTIRE library of games. Whereas the PS2 there are dozens of games that has come out from this year alone that has my interest... And upcoming games? Ohh, where can I start! Axel Impact, Gran Turismo 4, Final Fantasy X-2, ZOE: The 2nd Runner (PAL), R-Type Final, R:Racing Evolution, Star Ocean 3, and SO MUCH MORE! And I'm only mentioning the PS2-exclusive games here too. There are many multi-format games out/coming out, which means the PS2 ends up getting many of the major games from the xbox anyways. While some would argue that "games are better on the xbox", I simply disagree. The gameplay are usually the same across the formats, and, as many xbox owners would complain, the graphics are often "only up to PS2 standard". At the end of the day it's all about the games, which is probably the reason why I still haven't purchased a xbox, dispite the fact that everyone's telling me that it's "better, faster, bla bla bla". It's not about the hype, the hardware, but the games. <=[BC]=> | |||
