Good post! The key is targeted marketing - the people on your list are pre-qualified by their interest shown in your website, assuming it's a niche specific website (or opt-in), so that even after they buy your first product they are still likely to buy similar niche products from a trusted source... you.

But as you also say, quality is key, so you need to keep any emails up to standard, i.e. content rich and not JUST sales emails, or too frequent - otherwise you'll lose them from your list.

The article is excellent, Even I came across an interesting website wherein we can build our list by just signing up for a Gold membership absolutely free.
