Nobody really wanted DVD at first either; VHS was just fine, and
moreover you could record on it. It's not consumer demand that drives
these new forms of media, but studio demand. Then consumer demand
catches up when the players and discs get cheaper and people realize
that the improvement over the older medium is significant.
