Well as we discussed before it's misleading to call it a Top Spin problem.
It's a problem with a third-party title accessing the same stats database
and screwing with Top Spin, among other games. Because it's a third-party
game, and one from a valued partner, they can't lean on them too hard right
away, at least not publicly. I'd imagine once they've given said third-party
what they feel is a fair amount of time to fix the issue and no fix is
imminent, they may just cut them off from the database. After all, no stats
in a single title due to their own negligence is preferable to flawed stats
in every title that accesses the database. They could have done that right
away of course, but again they may have felt that would alienate the
publisher. And MS doesn't exactly have a wealth of third-party "must have"
titles on Xbox as it is.
If it were a Top Spin problem, it would have been handled differently. But
this situation requires a little more diplomacy.
