I was told AOL can't be shared because of their properietary protocol.
But how about this for a hack?
1) Setup a VPN (LT2P) connection to a friendly third party who is
willing to let you pass the connection through their PC.
2) Tick "Share this Internet Connection" for the VPN in question.
3) Try to connect to XBox Live using this indirect route to the
internet at large.
Can anyone see why this would or would not work? (It's not my PC or
XBox I'm dealing with, so knowing whether or not it will work before
travelling would be useful).
