Rubbish (directed at article, not you!)
Even if you take the above statistic (which was surveyed online,
de-selecting the entire population of people who do not have a PC online),
70% of people do not have a strong interest in online console gaming. The
last I heard 90% XB owners didn't have XB live. For the console with the
largest emphasis on online gaming, 10% uptake does not equate to "driving
sales", otherwise, the XB would have *well* outstripped the GC (which is
hasn't), and beaten the PS2 (which is certainly hasn't). Finally, recent
claims by both Sony and M$ as regards the 'record number of console gamers
online' has been in the region of 100,000 people (can't remember the exact
figure), which is about 3% of the number of consoles out there (30/40
million).
