A debit card or check card will also work fine, if it is one with a Visa
logo, it works just like a credit card and withdraws directly from your
checking account. Maybe even a prepaid credit card might work. I think
that requiring a credit card is perfectly reasonable, Xbox Live is an online
service and virtually everything online requires a credit card. With
subscriptions and future content requiring payment, I don't blame them at
all for not wanting to deal with sending out bills and having to worry about
collecting payments. I imagine it might even save a bit of money that could
even help keep the cost down for the consumers.
If you don't have a credit card I would suggest you get one, no credit
isn't much better than bad credit, it's best to get started building up your
credit by maintaining a credit card as soon as possible. If you paid $80 (I
assume Canadian dollars) for Xbox Live and can't use it, that is not
Microsoft's fault, it is your fault for not reading the requirements that
are clearly written on the box. |
