IMHO sucker mounts are useless, you are always thinking they are about to
fall off. I think a hard mount is best and I use a bracket from
www.dashmount.co.uk in both my cars, they don't damage the car dash. You can
easily bolt onto this the 'pda end' of the suction mount. With regards to
sound I have found two good methods. Firstly source computer speakers that
run off 12v (a lot do) or if lower than 12v get an adaptor to lower the
voltage from Maplin or similar. Plug everything into a 1 to 4 12v block
(againm Maplin do these for about £7) and away you go. I have my speakers
under my seat cable tied to the frame. In my wifes car they are fiuxed
behind the dash and are plenty loud enough. Secondly, Maplin did do a small
set of speakers that run off 4 AA batteries They only use the battery when
sound is played, not when in standby. I use rechagables and they last months
at a time.
