For a gift, I would spend the money on something nice and I'd even buy a
frame for it, too.
For my personal use, I'll be frugal with the spending. When it comes to
gift giving, money is a secondary thing to me and the gift itself is
more important.
You can even do it both ways, to see which you like more. Who knows,
your pieced together prints may turn out with no noticeable lines and
even sharper than the purchased print.
