Default How do I extract fine details from a photo

Is this with respect to copying a section of the image and then enlarging
it?

If so, assumming the resolution is real fine on the slide, then increasing
the resolution of the of the image before it is opened in photoshop
should allow you to take the hair or, for that matter, any part of the
image, enlarge it and still come up with finer details.

What I'm trying to say is the more pixels you have that match the original
image, the better the detail.

In photography, the distances between the light sensitive crystals effect
the details of the image.
