Default Question

I've got an image to display as backgroundimage on my website. For this I've
got a psd with 2 layers. (500x500px)
- Layer 1: just filled with the background color which is on my website
- Layer 2: an image from which I set the opacity to 10%

In Photoshop this all look great, but when I save it as a GIF, PNG or JPG
image (using all colors I can use) it looks like the image is saved with
just up to 10 colors so the image does not look very nice.

To figur out wht the problem was I created a screenshot from the image
opened in photoshop (the way it look good) and pasted the screenshot in a
new image in photoshop. I cut out the exact image and save it to a gif-file.
Now the image looks great, tough the background-color is not exact the same
anymore.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?
