I could not verify the date difference between shutting down and turning on
expct that it was some significant time in the future. I am scales enough
off that I can't interpret 1 minute of being turned off compared to 10
seconds of being turned off in addition to the error incurred during the
time lapse during boot.
But, I did monitor the clock in the bios and it was operating normally and
it was relatively close to the time when I shutdown the system, so whatever
is happening is actually writing to the sytem clock, but I am relatively
confident that this is software based.
