Default Turning Black Xbox into a Media Center

The media centre extender is only available for an NTSC Xbox so unless
you have one you will need to modify yours. If you are going to do this
then you might as well use the free and infinitely superior XBMC.

I assume you mean stream videos and music *from* the PC. The answer is yes.

Yes you can get a HD cable but if you use the extender it does not
support any resolutions other that NTSC (480i) which looks **** in
hi-def. XBMC supports Hi-def output and will upscale anything to 720p or
1080i with the HiDef cable (you do need to patch your XB to NTSC first).

The only thing that MCE does that XBMC doesn't is support TV, however
this can be added by various mods to the vanilla build, in every other
way XBCM blows MCE out of the water.
