Freeola offer truly excellent web hosting although not really "free".
In order to upload by FTP you must be connected to their ISP.
You can dial up using an 0845 number, 1p/min off peak in the UK,
not sure how much from elsewhere (+44 845) or subscribe to freeola ADSL.
Try signing up for the pay-as-you-go ISP service, dial in, set up your
web space, transfer your files and don't forget to disconnect.
