Windows Vista vs. Windows XP

With the release of Windows Vista, many are wondering whether it’s worthwhile to make the switch from Windows XP. People in this group are usually considered about things such as security and stability. Despite these fears, which are unfounded, people should be urged to switch to Windows Vista for a number of reasons.

Four of the new features that Vista offers are:

Windows Aero: Windows Vista offers a completely improved look, including graphic quality. Windows Aero requires a higher-end video card otherwise it runs on Windows Basic.

Windows Sidebar: Windows Vista offers a panel that allows you to see what you Windows gadgets you are using.

Microsoft Windows Media Player 11: It is possible to download this for Windows XP but is meant to be used on Windows Vista and should not be missed

Windows Search: Users can now search for files from anywhere. And unlike Windows XP, you only need to enter a few letters of what you’re looking for and it will quickly generate results for you.

Everyone is concerned about security so it’s reassuring to know that Windows Vista comes equipped with better security. It comes in the form of parental controls, a Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC), and a firewall.

Vista is also much more user-friendly with a new Start menu, improved folders and live icons.
