The Sony PS 3 was released to the United States in 2006 around the holiday season. There were 1million units released by Sony to the United States, which was a goal they were setting with the newest gaming console. They also set a goal to have shipped 1million units to Europe and recently that goals was met making over 2 million PlayStation 3 gaming consoles to be shipped.

Due to the huge success on the console here in the United States, Virgin Megastore located in London had devised a special gift for the first 100 people who waited in line. They received free TV’s and a cab ride home due to the some of the violence that has occurred here when the PS3 was released.

The console has a SIXAXIS controller; it also has Memory Card Adapter that can actually transfer the date from the PlayStation 2 to the PlayStation 3. The memory card is nit included but it reasonably priced at $ 15. The PlayStation 3 also has Bluetooth Technology and it lets the users play videos and music on Blue-Ray Disc and DVD’s through the console.

In fact the first 400,000 PS3 that were shipped to the United States had a free copy of the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and the PS3’s that were shipped to Europe had the movie Casino Royale included.
