How to Get Your Forum Started
Starting a new forum is always an exciting thing. But your excitement may die down as soon as you release that your forum is awfully quite- with no activity whatsoever. What can you do to keep your forum started? Here are some tips:
Start with yourself. As the admin of your forum, you should start posting new threads and religiously reply to other member’s posts. You can get new member by inviting your family and friends to your forum. You can also meet a lot of members by posting in forum sites similar as yours. For example, if you have a niche website on NASCAR racing, it would be a good idea to post in forums relating to motor sports and invite new recruits to your site.
You can also hire forum posters during the first few months of your forum. As soon as you get the forum buzzing, hiring forum posters is not necessary any longer. At first, you can also be a dual poster and create multiple users.
Finally, to entice more members to your site, you can give away some free stuff or start a contest. Prizes and freebies do not necessarily need to be monetary. You can grant your members with coupon cards, free hosting or domain name and a free subscription/ service to whatever you can offer your members.
With enough time and effort, you can get more members to your site and start yet another friendly community on the WorldWideWeb!
