Choosing a Logo for Your Website

If you wanted your website to have a strong recall among web surfers, you should treat your website as a product. You should have a professional-looking logo so that visitors would have something to remember about your website. To illustrate my point, think about eBay.com’s logo colors and Amazon.com’s shopping cart. If you have a good logo, it would add to your website’s branding.

In choosing a logo, you should have your business in mind. A logo should instantly relate to what you are selling or what services your website offers. It should stand out and be unique. Check out other competitor’s logo and make sure that yours is very distinctive and is set apart from others.

There are basically two types of logo- a font-based logo and a graphic-based logo. Font-based logos are similar to that of Nokia’s and Canon’s. Two examples of graphic-based logos are Nike’s Swoosh and Adidas’ 3-bar.

A website needs a logo. Sit down with a graphic artist and let him know your company objectives. Add in your ideas and suggestions. There are affordable freelance graphic artists that you can find online which you can correspond through e-mail. So if your website still doesn’t have a logo- it’s high time you get one!
